New Teeth in One Day with SmartFix
Dr. Gaither will take great care every step of the way to make sure your procedure is comfortable, efficient and that your new teeth are beautiful, natural-looking and long-lasting.
What is SmartFix Dental Implants?
SmartFix is a minimally invasive method of placing a full mouth of dental implants only using four implants to support a full arch (upper or lower) fixed non-removable replacement teeth. SmartFix allows you to have a full set of teeth without having to undergo multiple surgeries and replacements to place a full set of implants in your mouth. The greatest thing about SmartFix is that the procedure can typically be completed in our office during one appointment under local anesthesia and I.V. sedation, if desired. For our patients who have lost all their teeth or may need to have the remaining teeth pulled due to decay, this is an amazing advancement that allows them to have a full set of teeth without undergoing multiple procedures. Simultaneously, this solution gives patients the kind of teeth that look real and act like the original teeth.
Thorough diagnostics
We use advanced digital technology for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The first step in your implant treatment is an oral exam, followed by a panoramic digital X-ray and digital impressions to obtain a comprehensive structural view of your teeth and jaws. In addition, Dr. Gaither will also arrange for you to receive a 3D cone beam CT scan of your entire mouth and head for precise diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Gaither will perform any needed extractions and place your implants all on the same day. You will also receive your set of new, temporary teeth to wear while your finals are being fabricated.
Natural-looking, beautiful new teeth
Once your new, final teeth have been returned from the lab in approximately two to three weeks, we will have you return so that Dr. Gaither can place them. He will ensure that everything is just right, and that your new replacement teeth have a proper, comfortable bite alignment and look natural.
What can I expect after my SmartFix Procedure?
The R.I.C.E. protocol is generally recommended (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation). This involves resting at home and taking it easy for the first 72 hours following surgery. Utilizing ice packs with compression and elevation is important. A soft diet is preferred. If you had general anesthesia or I.V. sedation, please refrain from pulling on your lips or cheeks to inspect the surgical sites. Take your prescribed medications as directed.
